Ministry of Commerce: Over 6.8 Million Vehicles Traded-in in 2024

On January 15th, the State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences on "The Achievements of High-Quality Economic Development in China." A responsible person from the Ministry of Commerce stated that policies such as vehicle trade-in programs have driven sales of automobiles, home appliances, home decoration, and kitchen and bathroom products, exceeding 1.3 trillion yuan. Among them, green and intelligent products were highly favored, with the annual retail volume of new energy vehicles increasing by more than 40%. According to preliminary statistics, over 6.8 million vehicles were exchanged nationwide in 2024.

Changan Automobile: Entering the European Market in 2025

On January 15th, Changan Automobile announced during an institutional research that in 2025, the company will complete the following matters in the overseas market: 1) the Southeast Asia Rayong factory will start production, marking the official entry of Changan's globalization strategy into phase 2.0; 2) a European brand launch conference will be held, officially entering the European market; 3) KD projects in the Commonwealth of Independent States region (such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.) will officially start production; 4) a subsidiary in Brazil will be established in Central and South America; 5), the three major brands CHANGAN, DEEPAL, and AVATR will be fully introduced in the Middle East and Africa.

BYD Partners with Grab to Offer Electric Vehicle Rental Discounts for Drivers

On January 15th, BYD announced a partnership with Southeast Asia's ride-hailing company Grab, allowing Grab drivers to use up to 50,000 BYD electric vehicles in the Southeast Asia region. Grab drivers can rent BYD vehicles at the most competitive prices, with extended battery warranties. Drivers can rent electric vehicles from Grab's fleet partners or obtain financing support through Grab's vehicle ownership program.

Li Auto: Cumulative Smart Driving Miles Reach 2.93 Billion by End of 2024

On January 15th, Li Auto announced that as of December 31, 2024, the cumulative miles of Li Auto's smart driving reached 2.93 billion kilometers, with a cumulative user base of 1.109 million people and a usage rate of 98%. Throughout 2024, Li Auto's smart driving system was upgraded 12 times, adding 116 new features and optimizing 218 capabilities. In January 2025, the new AD Max V13.0 will be fully rolled out with OTA 7.0.
