China's Auto Exports Expected to Grow by 10% in 2025, says CPCA Secretary-General Cui Dongshu


Recently, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), projected that China's overall auto exports will grow by 10% in 2025, reaching 7 million units. Pure electric vehicle exports are expected to see zero growth, while gasoline-powered vehicle exports will increase by 9% and plug-in hybrid vehicle exports by 70%. Passenger car exports, as counted by the CPCA, are estimated to reach 5.3 million units, a 10% increase. With the slowdown of electrification in Europe and the United States, and the United States' announcement to withdraw from new energysubsidies, electric vehicle exports are expected to face significant pressurein 2025. The growth rate of pure electric vehicle exports was only 15% in 2024, and it is projected to be around zero in 2025.

Zeekr 7GT Set to Launch in Europe in Q2 2025


Zeekr, a brand under Geely, is set to launch its all-new electric estate car, the Zeekr 7GT, in Europe in the second quarter of 2025. The domestic counterpart of this model is the Zeekr 007GT. The new car will maintain the design of the Zeekr 007 sedan, with primary changes focused on the rear end. In terms of power, the Zeekr 7GT is expected to continue using the powertrain of the current 007 model. The rear-wheel-drive single-motorversion has a maximum power of 310kW, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.4 seconds. The all-wheel-drive dual-motor version has front and rear motor maximum powers of 165kW and 310kW respectively, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 2.84 seconds. The new car will be built on an 800V architecture, equipped with Geely's self-developed "Golden Brick" battery, with a maximum charging power of up to 500kW. A 15-minute charge can increase the range by over 500km. It will also offer a CATL ternary lithium battery option for high-end variants.

New Tesla Model Y Officially Released


On January 24th, the new Tesla Model Y was officially unveiled. The initial launch includes the rear-wheel-drive version and the long-range all-wheel-drive version, priced at 263,500 yuan and 303,500 yuan respectively, with a limited offer until February 28th. It is also understood that the new Model Y will begin arriving at dealerships after January 25th and will start deliveries in March this year. According to the declaration information, the new Model Y offers both rear-wheel-drive and long-range all-wheel-drive versions. The former has a total motor power of 220kW, while the latter has total motor powers of 137kW and 194kW, with corresponding maximum ranges of 593km and 719km.
