XPENG 10th Anniversary and the Launch of MONA M03
China A-segment auto market sees the entry of a new competitor —— XPENG MONA M03, a contender set to shake things up.
On the night of August 27th, XPENG held its 10th Anniversary Gala Night celebrating a decade innovation on intelligent mobility, and announcing that it is all in AI.
XPENG announced the much-anticipated MONA M03, and showcased the latest technology innovations on AI and chip development, and announced its global expansion strategy.
He Xiaopeng, XPENG’s Chairman and CEO, unveiled three variants of MONA M03 and the price range. Here below is the basic information on each variants for your reference.
l The 580km Range Max version: RMB155,800, 160Kw motor, 62.2kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries;
l The 620km Range version: RMB 129,800, 160Kw motor, 62.2kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries;
l The 515km Range version: RMB 119,800, 140kW motor, 51.8kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries.
MONA M03, A Competitive Electric Hatchbacks in the RMB 200,000 Segment Market
According to He Xiaopeng, the MONA M03 pays tribute to Tesla Model 3. The car benchmarks Tesla Model 3 on all features, but offers half the price of Model 3, the MONA M03 is gunning to be the go-to choice in the fiercely contested A-segment market.
The MONA M03 presents impressive space, measuring 4780mm in length, 1896mm in width, and 1445mm in height, with a 2815mm wheelbase. The MONA M03 is larger than the latest Tesla Model 3.

l The MONA M03 Max is equipped with XNGP, XPENG’s the full-scenario intelligent driving assistance system, enabling the car to drive on all kinds of routes and road of cities in China with advanced smart driving assistance.
l The MONA M03 boosts a drag coefficient of 0.194, which is the lowest among mass-produced electric hatchbacks globally.
l Here are some features which is standard across all variants, a 1.22 square meter panoramic skylight offering 99.9% UV and 97.6% IR blockage rates, a 15.6 inches floating central control screen, APA intelligent parking.
M03 Market Strategy and Competitive Advantage
Yang Guang, head of XPENG MONA Series Product, told the media that MONA M03 is aiming for monthly sales over 10,000 units. The latest sales numbers are backing him up.
The MONA M03 received over 10,000 firm orders within one hour of its release, and astounding 30,000 firm orders within 48 hours. MONA M03 might be able to become another best-seller in XPENG lineup, like its predecessor P7.

l Chip Development: In terms of chip development, He Xiaopeng proudly showcased its in-house developed Turing chip, which was successfully taped out on August 23rd. The chip features 40-core CPU, destined for AI vehicles, AI robots, and eVOTLS.
l Global Expansion: Global expansion is also on the agenda. XPENG set a 10-yeat target for global expansion, that is to sell half of its vehicles overseas in 10-year effort. By the end of 2024, XPENG plans to enter nearly 30 countries.
