At the night of November 7th, Xpeng officially launched its first AI-Powered EV P7+, which triggered a surge in orders, with over 10,000 orders within 12 minutes of launch, and 31,528 orders 3 hours after the launch.
According to the launch event, Xpeng P7+ offers three trims, the Long Range Max version, the Ultra-long Range Max version, and Limited Edition of Max version, priced 186,800 yuan (approximately USD 26,000), 198,800 yuan (approximately USD 27,800), and 218,800 yuan (approximately USD 30,600), respectively. Among which, the Limited Edition will offer exclusive designs, such as Star Quell Matte Grey body color, Fuyao Green limited interior color, limited edition badge, as well as customized seats with Alcantara fibre at a limited 500 units.
Xpeng P7+ is positioned as "three-in-one" model, featuring a sports car posture, SUV space, and the comfort of an MPV, with dimensions of 5056mm long, 1937mm wide, and 1512mm high.
Touted as the world’s first AI-defined car, the Xpeng P7+ has AI-powered advanced intelligent driving assistant system, and smart cockpit for all trims without any additional fee.
The Built-in Turing AI Driving System
In terms of the intelligent driving solutions, Xpeng integrated its in-house AI XOS 5.4.0, end-to-end large model, and the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The combination makes driving the car more human-like.
First of all, the XOS 5.4 platform enhances the human-like driving fourfold, increases the lane-change success rate by 53%, and detour handling success rate by 155%, than the previous edition.
Secondly, the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution utilizes dual Orin-X smart driving chips, and 26 perception hardware, make sure that the car can perform effectively in various lighting and weather conditions.
Thirdly, thanks to the end-to-end large model, the car can achieve monthly OTA updates for users to use the latest functions.
The Smart Cockpit Powered by AI
The P7+ delivers a cutting-edge smart cockpit that harnesses the power of the X-GPT model, and is equipped with the Qualcomm 8295P cockpit chip, together increasing the performance by 50%. The voice interactions experience will be taken to new heights. With a simple direction, the car will interact with the passengers smoothly, and understand them deeply, and what’s most important, the car can activate functions precisely as passengers require. The interior features a tech-savvy feel by a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen with three-screen connectivity.
If you consider the Xpeng P7+ only excels in AI, you are wrong. The vehicle also has robust performance on luxury configurations, powertrain and safety.
Comfort and Luxury
- The vehicle has a 2.1㎡ panoramic sunroof, largest in its class, blocking 99.9% UV rays.
- All the seats features Nappa leather, coming standard for all trims, and with heating, ventilation, and massage for all seats inside the car.
- The car offers a concert-like experience by installing a 20-speaker high-fidelity audio system with 7.1.4 surround sound layout.
- The P7+’s excellent noise reduction, which achieved through 36 sound-absorbing pads, creating a serene driving environment.
Robust power with Comfort Driving Experience
- In terms of power, the P7+ offers two battery packs supporting 602 kilometers or 710 kilometers of range, and boasts a maximum output of 180 kW (245 hp) or 230 Kw (313hp).
- The P7+ boosts 0 to 100 km/h acceleration rate of 5.9 seconds.
- Features a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear suspension design, the car can achieve reduction in impact from speed bumps, in vibration energy on potholed roads, in body pitch, and body roll.
Safety
The P7+ reaches C-NCAP (2024 version) five-star safety standards.
- In terms of active safety measures, the car is a strong one featuring a 2000MPa ultra-high-strength cage body. The battery passes 700J chassis ball impact test, representing its ability of protecting its battery pack as well as the chassis.
- The car is equipped with 7 airbags and 14 active safety features for comprehensive safety protection.
