China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM): November Vehicle Sales Up 11.7% Year-on-Year
On December 11th, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed that in November, automobile production and sales reached 3.437 million and 3.316 million units, respectively, with a month-on-month growth of 14.7% and 8.6%, and a year-on-year growth of 11.1% and 11.7%, respectively. From January to November, automobile production and sales reached 27.903 million and 27.94 million units, with a year-on-year growth of 2.9% and 3.7%, respectively.
In November, new energy vehicle production and sales reached 1.566 million and 1.512 million units, with a year-on-year growth of 45.8% and 47.4%, respectively, accounting for 45.6% of the total new vehicle sales. From January to November, new energy vehicle production and sales reached 11.345 million and 11.262 million units, with a year-on-year growth of 34.6% and 35.6%, respectively, accounting for 40.3% of the total new vehicle sales.
Pony.ai and GAC Aion to Co-develop Mass Production Robotaxi Platform with the First Batch of Models to be Launched in 2025
On December 11th, Pony.ai and GAC Aion reached a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly develop a fully redundant pre-installed mass production Robotaxi vehicle platform based on Aion's global models and Pony.ai's seventh-generation autonomous driving hardware and software systems. They plan to launch at least a thousand Aion Robotaxi models, with the first batch to be completed in 2025 and first deployed in the Greater Bay Area, with future expansion to more regions and countries.
Volvo Cars: 500,000th Vehicle Rolls Off the Line at Daqing Plant
On December 11th, Volvo Cars announced that the 500,000th vehicle officially rolled off the line at the Daqing plant, with the model being the Volvo S90. Volvo stated that the Daqing plant is the first SPA Scalable Product Architecture plant established by Volvo Cars in China and is also the only global production base for the Volvo S90.
Tesla Cybertruck Completes Energy Consumption Declaration with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
On December 11th, the Tesla Cybertruck completed the energy consumption declaration with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The energy consumption label from the Ministry shows that the Cybertruck has a curb weight of 3104kg and a maximum designed total weight of 3700kg. The vehicle has a driving range of 618 kilometers, with an electric consumption of 22.6 kWh per 100km, an equivalent fuel consumption of 2.62L/100km, and an estimated energy cost of 14.92 CNY/100km.
