During the China's National Day Holiday, China car market main players are releasing their September sales reports. Let’s check out the performance of Chinese NEV Startups in September.
In September, the NEV startups Li Auto, Xpeng, HIMA, Zeekr, and Leapmotor achieved robust growth, and among which, Li Auto and Xpeng reached a record-breaking delivery numbers.
Li Auto: A Landmark Month for Deliveries
Li Auto delivered 53,709 units of NEVs in September, marking a historic monthly high, a 48.9% year-on-year increase. During January and September, Li Auto delivered a total of 341,812 vehicles, making a year-on-year rise of 45.4%.
According to Li Auto official, we learned that the company has released its retail and service networks expansion and charging facilities achievements. Till now, Li Auto has 479 retail centers across 145 cities, and 436 after-market services and authorized repair centers covering 221 cities. In terms of its charging infrastructure construction, Li Auto has set up 894 supercharging stations and 4,286 individual charging piles across China.
Xpeng: Breaking New Ground in Monthly Deliveries
Xpeng reached a record-high monthly delivery numbers as well, with 21,352 units of BEVs delivered in September, marking a year-on-year increase of 39%, and a month-in-month rise of 52%. The main contributor is the newly-launched XPeng MONA M03, securing over 10,000 units delivered in September. Cumulatively, Xpeng delivered a total of 98,561 vehicles for January to September, gaining a year-on-year growth of 21%.
Zeekr: September Deliveries Reach New Heights
Zeekr announced its record-breaking delivery number of 21,333 vehicles in September, achieving a 77% year-on-year increase and an 18% month-on-month growth. For the first three quarters this year, Zeekr delivered 142,873 vehicles in total, marking a year-on-year increase of 81%.
The best-selling models are Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007 and the Zeekr 7X, all featuring an upgraded smart cabin, which is adopting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, as well as an in-house intelligent driving system based on the NVIDIA Orin chip. The improved intelligent features may help Zeekr’s sales reach a new high.
Leapmotor: Continuing the Upward Trend
Leapmotor continued to break its monthly delivery numbers in September with 33,767 units of NEVs delivered, marking a 94.6% year-on-year increase. Cumulatively, Leapmotor delivered a total of 172,861 units in the first nine months. The robust sales performance made Leapmotor the third best-selling brand in the NEV start-ups, following Li Auto and the HIMA.
HIMA: 39,931 Sales in September
HIMA announced its latest sales data in September with a total delivery of 39,931 vehicles (including its three brands, AITO, Luxeed, and Stelato).
The AITO, backed Seres and Huawei, delivered a total of 35,560 units in September. The best-seller AITO M9 delivered 15,496 units, ranking the first on the list of luxury vehicles over 50,000 yuan for six consecutive months in China.
The Stelato S9 delivered 2,169 units in September, ranking the first on the list of luxury all-electric sedans in China.
While the Luxeed R7, which was launched at the end of September, recived 11,000 firm orders in four days after the launch.
Other Notable Performances
- Voyah: After an eight-month hiatus, Voyah achieved a 10,001 deliveries in September, after eight month’s low sales. The sales may be triggered by the newly launched Voyah Dreamer, which achieved over 5,000 deliveries within just 12 days after the launch.
- Avatr: The newly launched Avatr 07 boosted 11,673 orders within 20 hours of its launch, thus Avatr achieved the delivery of 4,537 vehicles in September, a 47.31% increase year-on-year.
- IM Motors: The NEV brand under SAIC, IM Motors sold 4,516 units in September, a drop in recent three months. From June to August, IM Motors delivered over 6000 units every month. Will IM Motors’ sales volume rebound in the following months, we will keep constant attention.
- Jiyue: Backed Geely and Baidu, Jiyue secured 2,605 units delivered in September, a 23.05% month-on-month growth.
