China Passenger Car Sales Surge 30% in Early November
The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released data on November 20, revealing that the retail sales of passenger cars from November 1-17 reached 1.106 million units. This marks a significant 30% increase compared to the same period last year. Cumulative retail sales for this year have reached 18.942 million units, showing a 5% year-on-year growth.
The new energy vehicle (NEV) market has also seen substantial growth. From November 1-17, NEV sales reached 581,000 units, a remarkable 66% increase compared to the previous year. Year-to-date, cumulative NEV sales stand at 8.909 million units, representing a 41% increase over the same period last year.
NIO's Q3 Financial Report
NIO Inc. reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, with total revenue amounting to 18.6735 billion RMB, a 2.1% year-over-year decrease. The company's adjusted net loss widened by 11.6% to 4.4126 billion RMB. However, NIO's vehicle profit margin improved to 13.1% from the previous quarter's 12.2%. The company expects to deliver between 72,000 and 75,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter, with anticipated revenues ranging from 19.676 billion RMB to 20.383 billion RMB.
Chery Unveils New Concept Cars at Guangzhou Auto Show
Chery Automobile showcased 15 models at the Guangzhou Auto Show, including two new concept vehicles under the Fengyun series – the Jinyun and the Liefeng. The Jinyun, inspired by the beauty of Kunlun jade, features solar panels for energy replenishment across various scenarios. The Liefeng, equipped with Chery's self-developed 30,000 RPM ultra-high-speed motor and Kunpeng solid-state battery, is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and achieve a pure electric range exceeding 1,500 km. Alongside these concept cars, Chery also displayed popular models such as the Fengyun A8L, A9, and T8. Technological exhibits included the Kunpeng battery, 5.5-generation high-efficiency hybrid engines, and the Panshi 2.0 body structure.
Shanghai Accelerates Used Car Export
Shanghai inaugurated its first comprehensive service center for used car exports at the Haitong International Auto Terminal on November 20. The service center, located inside the port area, is designed to provide one-stop services for used car export enterprises in Shanghai and neighboring provinces. It aims to reduce the risks and transportation costs associated with multiple vehicle transfers and improve overall service efficiency.
Huawei HIMA to launch 8 models in 2025
Huawei HIMA is set to double its vehicle models next year. The company plans to introduce over 10 models, including the AITO M5, M7, M8, and M9, as well as EREV version of the Stelato S9 with elongated and touring variants, and the Luxeed S7 and R7. Additionally, HIMA will release the Maextro S800 and a second model under Maextro. The new AITO M8, slated for launch in the first half of 2025, is expected to rival with Li Auto's L9.
