IM Motors Unveils Wire-Controlled Digital Chassis Tech for Late 2025 Production

IM Motors revealed its X-Y-Z Three-Axis 6-DOF Digital Chassis Technology at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on April 24, promising sharper handling for vehicles up to 5 meters long with a class-leading 4.69-meter turning radius. The system integrates steering, braking, and suspension controls via wire-driven actuators. A third-gen iteration with full front/rear steer-by-wire will debut on a new flagship model in Q4 2025, followed by a fourth-gen version in 2026 featuring dry-type brake-by-wire and AI-powered predictive motion control.  

Beijing Off-Road Showcases BJ40 Range-Extender with 1,200 km Endurance

Beijing Off-Road’s BJ40 range-extended SUV made its Shanghai debut on April 24, alongside the limited-edition BJ40 RE Chitu Edition priced at RMB 299,800 (approx. USD 41,100). The RE variant pairs a 40.3 kWh ternary lithium battery with an 82L fuel tank for a combined 1,200 km range. Brand officials claim the model secured over 10,000 orders within 48 hours, capturing 81% of China’s “boxy SUV” niche market. Deliveries begin in Q4 2025.  

SAIC to Launch 17 Overseas-Bound Models in Three Years  

SAIC Motor announced a global offensive at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23, pledging 17 new international-market vehicles by 2027 across SUV, sedan, MPV, and pickup segments. The move aims to bolster its position as China’s top automotive exporter, leveraging localized production hubs in Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America.  

Horizon Robotics, Bosch Partner on Next-Gen ADAS Solutions

Horizon Robotics and Bosch inked a strategic collaboration on April 24 to co-develop advanced driver-assist systems. Bosch will deploy Horizon’s Journey 6B chip for its next-gen multi purpose camera, while Bosch ADAS product family for midrange segment will use the Journey 6E/M processors. Both solutions have secured project nominations from multiple automakers, targeting mass production by late 2026.  

NIO’s William Li Predicts China’s 40% Global Auto Market Share

NIO CEO William Li stated during a Shanghai Auto Show interview on April 23 that China’s annual vehicle production could reach 40 million units, exceeding 40% of global output.
