Entering the third quarter of the year, major Chinese automakers releases their July sales reports one by one. We learned that many automakers achieved record-breaking sales. Let’s check out their performances with Autocango.
Let’s check the overall market sales data first. China's passenger car market showed a weak trend in July. According to the latest report from the CPCA (China Passenger Car Association), from July 1st to July 31st, the retail sales reached 1.729 million units, with a year-on-year decrease of 2%, and a month-on-month decrease of 2%. The cumulative retail sales form January to July reached 11.568 million units, increase 2% year-on-year.
On new energy vehicle sector, the retail sales were 879,000 units in July, up 37% year-on-year, and up 3% month-on-month. The cumulative retail sales of new energy vehicles from January to July, reached 4.991 million units, up over 30% year-on-year.
BYD
Without suspense, BYD continued to demonstrate a strong growth, with new energy vehicle sales reaching over 342,000 units in July. The cumulative sales volume for the previous 7 months stands at 1.96 million units, marking a 28.83% increase year-on-year.
Li Auto
Li Auto achieved a new record high in July sales by delivering over 51,000 vehicles, marking a 49.4% year-on-year increase. From January to July, impressively, Li Auto cumulatively delivered a total of 240,000 vehicles.
Seres
On August 2nd, Seres announced that AITO sold over 42,200 units in July, reaching a remarkable year-on-year increase of 508.25%; AITO’s cumulative sales volume for the previous seven months reached 243,100 units, gaining a 369.95% increase year-on-year.
NIO
NIO announced that it has delivered 20,500 vehicles in July, with a slight month-on-month decrease of 3.4%. From January to July, NIO has delivered a total of 107,900 vehicles cumulatively, gaining a 43.9% increase year-on-year. At the beginning of this year, NIO set an annual delivery target of 230,000 vehicles, as for the recent sales volume, it indicates a significant pressure in the remaining five months for NIO.
Great Wall Motors
According to the sales report released by Great Wall Motors, it has sold about 91,300 vehicle sales in July, a 16.32% decrease year-on-year. Among them, GWM sold 24,100 units of new energy vehicles; and the GWM reached an overseas sales of 38,200 units, marking a 41.39% surge year-on-year. Cumulatively, from January to July, GWM sold 651,000 vehicles; new energy models accounted for 156,519 units, a 28.14% increase year-on-year; overseas sales reached 239,685 units, marking a 58.80% surge year-on-year.
Zeekr
Zeekr delivered 15,700 vehicles in July, a 30% increase year-on-year, and amounted a cumulative delivery of 103,500 units from January to July, achieving an 89% surge year-on-year. Notably, Zeekr has reached a cumulative delivery of over 300,000 vehicles on July 31st, within just 33 months from its establishment.
Xpeng Motors
Xpeng delivered over 11,100 vehicles in July, getting a 1% increase year-on-year and a 4% increase month-on-month. In the first seven months of this year, Xpeng delivered a total of 63,200 new vehicles cumulatively, with a 20% increase year-on-year.
Neta Auto
In July, Neta Auto also broke the ten-thousand monthly sales volume, delivering 11,000 vehicles, marking a 7.9% increase month-on-month.
Xiaomi
In July, Xiaomi continued to ensure a delivery volume of over 10,000 units. It is reported that if Xiao maintains the delivery pace, it will achieve its annual delivery target of 100,000 vehicles in November, ahead of schedule.
Chery Group
Chery Group announced its July sales, including its four brands, Chery, Exeed, Jetour, and iCAR, with a total of 196,000 vehicles sold, reaching 30.1% increase year-on-year. Chery’s overseas sales accounted for 90,300 units, a 16.8% increase year-on-year. And 1.296 million new energy vehicles are sold in July by Chery.
Geely Group
In July, Geely Group sold 150,800 vehicles, achieving a year-on-year increase of 13%. From January to July, its cumulative sales exceeded 1.1 million vehicles, gaining a year-on-year growth of over 36%.
On new energy vehicle sales and overseas sales, Geely brought a remarkable performance in July. 59,100 new energy vehicles were sold with a 58% year-on-year increase; from January to July, a total of 379,200 new energy vehicles were sold, gaining a significant increase of 105% year-on-year.
How’s Geely's overseas sales data? According to Geely, in July, its overseas sales reached 32,400 vehicles, a 65% year-on-year increase; from January to July, the cumulative overseas sales volume was 229,800 vehicles, achieving a great year-on-year increase of 67%.
