Ten Upcoming Cars to Watch in China This July

This July, China's car market will see the launch of several new joint venture and Chinese brand vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, electric, and hybrid models. AutoCango highlights the top ten upcoming cars.

First half of 2024 has paased, and car makers are now fighting for the second half of the year. This July, we will see several joint venture vehicles launched, as well as Chinese brand new energy vehicles, with sedans and SUVs models. AutoCango will walk you through them!

1. FAW-Volkswagen Magotan

Speaking of joint ventures cars, the new FAW-Volkswagen Magotan is one of the important ones. It will be launched on July 9th and it’s the only fuel-powered car. Its main feature lies in such an aspect as DJI’s intelligent driving solution. The new model of the vehicle outgrows its predecessor by almost 12cm, which will greatly enhance the rear seat space. Magotan comes with a triple-screen and 8155 chip. The changeover of the entry-level 1.4T engine to Volkswagen’s new 1.5T engine is aimed at more power and enhancing the economy of fuel. The expected price is expected to range between CNY 180,000 and 250,000 yuan.

2. MINI COOPER Pure Electric

MINI COOPER pure electric version will be launched on July 6th, and has a pre-sale price of CNY 210,000-270,000. MINI COOPER SE model has a maximum output power of 218 horsepower and is equipped with a 51.5 kWh battery pack, which can go up to 452 km under CLTC conditions. While the entry level variant MINI COOPER E has an electric motor, producing 184 horsepower, as well as a 51.5 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 456 km.

3. Volkswagen Anhui ID.UNYX

Volkswagen Anhui will be launching its first pure electric compact crossover SUV under its brand known as ID.UNYX in mid-July. The new car will use the same 170kW single motor and 250kW dual motor power systems as the ID.4 series, with 82.4kWh ternary lithium battery pack offering them ranges of 621 km for rear single motor and front as well as dual motors respectively. The expected price is to exceed 200, 000 yuan.

4. Zeekr X

On July 1st, 2025 Zeekr X was officially launched by Zeekr. The new car is positioned as a compact SUV with three variants priced between 200,000 and 220,000 yuan, but with a limited-time discount price that starts from 179,000 yuan. As for its design style, 2025 Zeekr X has followed that of old models but upgraded their configuration and power. In terms of core power, it offers single motor rear-wheel drive and dual motor four-wheel drive models, with the single motor model having a maximum power of 200 kW and a peak torque of 343 N•m; the dual motor model has a combined power of 315 kW and a peak torque of 543 N•m. When it comes to batteries, the new car will be equipped with 66 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, providing range of 500 km, 512km and 560 km depending on different configurations.

5. Exeed Sterra ES

The 2025 Exeed Sterra ES sedan will start pre-sale on July 10th. The new car will preserve 3 models on the 800V platform with two range options: 680km and 710 km. The car may increase its market share by reducing prices and adding configurations.

6. AION V Second Generation

The second generation of AION V is finally here for all of us. As it is a global model, the characteristics of the second generation AION V include toughness outside and tenderness inside. The body is both fierce and cute, referred to as a pure electric “tyrant dragon.” Its cabin has a refrigerator, TV and sofa along with AI cabin that offers ADiGO 5.0 system plus butterfly massage chairs capable of simulating actual human hands on technique. Also, the long range is for ensuring that the new second generation AION V achieves a class leading range performance of 750 km. Regarding fast charging, on a 400V voltage platform, the car can add 370 km in 15 minutes.

7. Risingauto RC7

On top of that, the information available so far also about the Risingauto RC7 indicates that this vehicle will most probably be launched in this month. According to what is known now, Risingauto RC7 is going to be positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV supporting battery swapping and charging, and has up to a maximum range of 710km. It is worth mentioning here that the new car will be equipped with lidar technology; which is expected to carry high-level driving assistance functions. Apparently, the Risingauto RC7 has been targeted for Li L6 and it may retail at a price lower than Li L6, say 160,000 to 200,000 yuan.

8. Denza Z9 GT

There appears to be a shooting brake model that looks quite similar to Panamera called Denza Z9 GT. Speaking of configuration, Denza Z9 GT will be armed with Yunnian A, lidar, air suspension + CDC, rear wheel steering and other luxury configurations. The new car offers both plug-in hybrid and pure electric options. Its benchmark model is said to be the luxury model of 56E according to the official, therefore we do not expected it to be cheaper than 400,000 yuan.

9. Deepal S07

Deepal S07 is set to launch in July as well, and it will, technically, be a car with Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving solution which could be a pure visual ADS SE solution and at the same time improve the high-speed NOA function.

10. Neta S Shooting Brake

Neta S Shooting Brake is also expected to be launched shortly, offering both purely electric and plug-in hybrid power options as well. It is expected that this new automobile will be fully upgraded in terms of intelligence and comfort since it is built on Shanhai Platform 2.0 version architecture. According to some sources, Haozhi skateboard chassis technology will be used on Neta S Shooting Brake, and also the car will integrate die-casting front/ rear body +integrated energy cabin design and possibly even air suspension.
