Chery's EXEED brand announced the commencement of pre-sales for the Yaoguang C-DM SUV, billed as the "ultimate in comfort and technology, a plug-in hybrid flagship SUV." The pre-sale prices for the various models are as follows: the Long Range Plus priced at 172,800 yuan, the Long Range Pro at 182,800 yuan, the Ultra Long Range Pro at 202,800 yuan, and the Ultra Long Range Max priced at 222,800 yuan.


The Yaoguang C-DM marks a milestone as the inaugural model to ride on EXEED's M3X Super Hybrid | Native Hybrid Platform, referred to as the M3X Super Hybrid Platform. This platform is the culmination of Chery's 27 years of research and development, designed with a focus on globalization and high-end technology. The Yaoguang C-DM is expected to hit the market officially in the first quarter of this year.


The M3X Super Hybrid Platform was developed with consideration for the integration of the battery, electric motor, and electric drive system from the outset. The entire vehicle has undergone rigorous reliability tests in various global locations, including Indonesia, the Middle East, South America, Brazil, Germany, and China's Heilongjiang province. EXEED claims that the waterproof performance of the vehicle is three times that of national standards, with the battery pack waterproofing reaching an impressive 48 times the national standard. Furthermore, the vehicle's battery and other components have been designed to operate within an ultra-wide temperature range, from -35°C to 60°C.


Powering the Yaoguang C-DM's hybrid system is the fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI efficient hybrid engine, paired with a three-speed super hybrid DHT, hybrid-specific batteries, and advanced battery management systems.


The engine of the Yaoguang C-DM boasts a thermal efficiency exceeding 44.5%. The two-wheel-drive variant is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering a combined maximum power of 270 kW and a peak torque of 605 N·m. For the four-wheel-drive model, three electric motors are utilized, pushing the total maximum power over 400 kW and the peak torque beyond 900 N·m. This powerful combination enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a remarkable 4 seconds.


With a maximum battery capacity of 34.46 kWh, the Yaoguang C-DM offers an impressive WLTC-rated battery-powered range of 160 km, sufficient for a week's commuting on a single charge. The WLTC-rated combined driving range extends to 1,343 km, while real-world testing has revealed a maximum range exceeding 1,418 km. Fast charging capabilities further enhance its convenience, as it can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.


The Yaoguang C-DM also boasts an array of advanced features and systems, many of which are typically found in luxury vehicles. These include the CDC electromagnetic suspension system, Soft Stop system, chassis hydraulic vibration isolation system, and intelligent brake-by-wire system. These features work together to ensure a stable and comfortable driving experience, regardless of road conditions. Additionally, the SUV's integration of the four major domains of the electronic electrical architecture, along with its OTA iterative capabilities, ensures a consistently luxurious and technologically advanced driving experience for drivers.
