Geely Auto officially announced that based on its self-developed AI digital chassis, it has recently completed the world's first autonomous drifting of a car.

On March 27, Geely Auto officially announced that based on its self-developed AI digital chassis, it has recently completed the world's first autonomous drifting of a car.

The test vehicle accomplished total unmanned autonomous driving and automatic drifting on an icy road surface, continuously adjusting its posture to maintain the drift.

As introduced, autonomous driving drifting is a significant part of Geely's AI digital chassis technology, demonstrating Geely's cross-domain integration capability in multiple technical areas such as AI, digital chassis, and intelligent driving.

The perception algorithm of software and hardware integration can perceive and predict the vehicle's state in real-time.

Millisecond-level steer-by-wire tuning, controlling the direction of the drift.

Fine torque vectoring control of the wheel-side motor provides real-time power distribution for drifting.

Geely Auto stated that with the autonomous driving drifting technology, basic capabilities like sideways movement and tank turning can be "easily accomplished." Intelligent electric vehicles based on autonomous driving drifting technology can bring users a higher level of intelligent safety assistance, such as stronger proactive evasion and active braking. At the same time, in situations like vehicle tail-flinging stability recovery, drift assistance in fixed places, and drift evasion in extreme traffic conditions, it will also bring users a more intelligent and safe driving experience.

From the official source of Geely Auto, the company will accelerate the application of high-end new energy technologies such as AI digital chassis to mainstream products, and by next year at the latest, it will be mass-produced on products such as Geely Galaxy and Lynk & Co.
