Ji Yue Receives L3 Autonomous Driving Test License

On March 8, the Optics Valley of China, also known as the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, initiated the L3 intelligent connected vehicle road-testing project and granted its inaugural L3 autonomous driving test license. This significant license was awarded to Ji Yue, the automotive robot brand jointly supported by Baidu and Geely. With this license, Ji Yue can conduct conditional autonomous driving road tests in specified areas, contributing to the progress of intelligent driving and showcasing advancements in the Optics Valley of China.

Professional road testing is pivotal for refining autonomous driving technology and is a foundational step toward the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. The Optics Valley in Wuhan has opened a total of 513.65 kilometers of intelligent connected test roads, aiming to establish a fully open testing environment.

In January 2023, Ji Yue established an R&D center in the Optics Valley, concentrating on technological advancements in intelligent driving, intelligent cabins, and internet products and engineering. Additionally, a comprehensive service system was implemented to offer users an exceptional intelligent mobility experience.

Ji Yue's point-to-point navigation assistance (PPA) currently covers over 400,000 kilometers of roads throughout China. The high-speed PPA feature is accessible on 90% of the country's expressways and elevated roads, while the urban PPA function spans major roads in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou. By 2024, Ji Yue's PPA intelligent driving system aims to achieve nationwide coverage, encompassing 100% of the country's expressways and elevated roads.
