On March 8, Xpeng Aeroht's X2 flying car completed its inaugural mission over Guangzhou's central city, marking a significant step for urban air transportation and low-altitude tourism.

The flight aimed to accumulate experience for future applications in complex urban environments. The test route has dual utility, serving both urban air transportation and sightseeing purposes.

Xpeng Aeroht, along with its parent company Xpeng, is headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The successful flight validated the product's capability to meet the demands of intricate urban scenarios. Xpeng's commitment to safety was highlighted, with CEO He Xiaopeng emphasizing a prerequisite of 5,000 kilometers of hands-on experience for Aeroht executives before the flying car's market launch.

Xpeng introduced the Voyager X1 at the 2021 Shanghai auto show and later unveiled the fifth-generation X2 in July 2021, featuring a 35-minute range, 130km/h top speed, autonomous flight path planning, and advanced sensor capabilities for real-time communication and safe landings. In September 2021, Xpeng Aeroht shared a video outlining its vision for integrating flying cars into city environments.
