Recently, according to the official website of the "Shanghai Municipal People's Government," Changan Minsheng Logistics chartered a roll-on/roll-off ship to embark on its maiden voyage at the Haitong Wharf in the Waigaoqiao Port Area of the Shanghai Port. Nearly 2,000 brand-new domestically produced new energy vehicles sailed overseas on this roll-on/roll-off ship.

It is also reported that this is the first time a domestic automotive enterprise has exported cars by independently chartering a roll-on/roll-off ship. Compared to the traditional sea freight booking mode, independent chartering breaks the constraint of tight ship cabin availability in the shipping market. It facilitates point-to-point, route-specific, ship-specific, and timely delivery, ensuring delivery efficiency and offering lower freight rates for customers.

Currently, China's primary logistics techniques for auto export are roll-on/roll-off ship transport, container ship transport, China-Europe Block Trains, and road transport to adjacent nations. In 2023, China shipped 5.22 million vehicles, surpassing Japan to become the global leader. The rapid development in China's automotive exports, particularly the rise of new energy cars, has raised the demand for ocean-going roll-on/roll-off ships.
