Aion Hyper, GAC Group’s premium EV subsidiary, launched pre-sales for its flagship Hyper HL SUV on March 18. The premium SUV targets RMB300,000 level family users with pre-sale prices between RMB 279,800 to 329,800 (USD 43,046–50,738*).
The model adapts a “Land Yacht” design, offers 5- or 6-seat, and pure electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) powertrains on its 6 variants.

The model has a length of 5126mm, a width of 1990mm, a height of 1730mm, and a 3,088 mm wheelbase, quite a spacious cabin, right? Moreover, the 6-seater variant features dual zero-gravity seats at the second-row.
Tech Prowess: Night Vision, Lidar, and NVIDIA-Powered Autonomy
The HL debuts GAC’s GSD Advanced Driving System, armed with lidar and NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin chips, capable of urban/highway navigation and automated parking. As a gimmick, the HL has a military-grade “Night Owl” thermal imaging system, enhancing the car’s safety in low-light scenarios. This is an industry-first application in civilian vehicles, as the brand says.
Powertrains: 750 km BEV Range, 1,200 km EREV Endurance
For BEV versions, all except the 670 Pro 5-seater Edition, is built under 800 V, suppoting a 5C flash charging technology, which means the car can gain 265 km range in 5-minute charge. While for the EREV versions, a total of 1,200km range can be ensured.
