News Flash丨Xiaomi's Battery is Right on the Way, as CATL's Beijing Base Officially Starts Construction

On 18th June, the groundbreaking ceremony for Beijing Era Battery Co., Ltd. was held. Media reports show that the project is a joint investment by CATL, BAIC Group, Jingen Group and Xiaomi Group.

It is reported that, this is CATL's first battery factory in the North China region. The project will be constructed in two phases, and is planned to be put into production in 2026.

According to the report, Beijing Era Battery Base project is planned to be a “Lighthouse Factory + Zero-Carbon Factory” implementing the latest CATL’s advanced technology. The factory is located near Xiaomi Yizhuang factory at Yizhuang N43 plot. Once completed, the base will provide stable, high-quality battery products for BAIC, Xiaomi and other auto makers in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The establishment of Beijing Era Battery Base signals the deeper cooperation between CATL, BAIC Group and Xiaomi Group.

Additionally, more upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain will be attracted to settle down in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by Beijing Era battery base thus overall enhancing the competitive ability of new energy industry chain supply chain ecosystem.
