Stricter Controls on Illegal New Car Export, More Space for Legitimate Used Cars, and Emerging Opportunities for International Model New Cars

On March 8th, Chinese NEV giant BYD and the largest consumer drone manufacturer DJI jointly announced the “Lingyuan” Intelligent Vehicle-mounted Drone System. The system is set to transform cars into a mobile exploration and entertainment hubs.
Features of the “Lingyuan” System
It is known that the “Lingyuan” system comprises a drone, a vehicle-mounted drone bay, and an integrated software platform. The drone, which is used by the “Lingyuan” system is DJI's Air 3S drone model. The system features not only the standard features of the consumer-grade Air 3S, but also functions deeply customized for automotive use, such as dynamic takeoff and landing, follow-and-shoot, quick storage and charging, dual ground-air camera, and one-click highlight video generation.
BYD Models Equipped with “Lingyuan”
BYD will integrate the “Lingyuan” system into its four sub-brans: Yangwang, Denza, Fangchengbao, and BYD brand. The models would include Denza N9, Tang L, Sealion 07 DM-i, Fangchengbao Bao 5, and Fangchengbao Titanium 3.
This technology will be progressively integrated into BYD's four major brands: YUAN, Tengshi, FUTURUS, and BYD, promoting widespread adoption.
Take Fangchengbao as an example. The Bao 8 model launched a Drone Edition, which utilize the "Lingyuan" fast-charging version priced between RMB 395,800 ($54,000) and RMB 423,800 ($58,000). The fast-charging version will be mainly applied on models under BYD's Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, and Fangchengbao brands.
Swap Version for Yangwang Models
However, the swap version will be mainly used on Yangwang models, revealed by Yang Dongsheng, Senior Vice President of BYD Group and President of the Automotive New Technology Research Institute.
