BYD and Huawei have officially launched their collaborative project, the Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 SUV, marking a significant leap in the smart hybrid SUV segment. Priced between 379,800 (approximately USD52,600) and 407,800 yuan379,800 (approximately USD56,400), the Bao 8 promises advanced hybrid technology and intelligent features, positioning it as a high-end choice for SUV enthusiasts.

Leapmotor Plans Local Production in Europe by 2025

In response to the European Union's increased tariffs, Leapmotor is expediting its plans for local production to mitigate both tariff and transportation costs. Sources revealed on November 12 that Leapmotor aims to start localized manufacturing in Europe by the end of 2025. This strategic move is projected to support Leapmotor's ambitious goal of achieving sales of 500,000 units by 2025. Meanwhile, the company's B-series models are expected to play a crucial role in expanding market share and enhancing profitability, say a gross profit margin above 10%.

XPENG AEROHT’s Flying Car Completes Global Debut Flight

In an unprecedented event, XPENG AEROHT’s flying car, dubbed the "Land Aircraft Carrier," successfully completed its global debut flight at the Zhuhai Air Show. Currently, XPENG AEROHT is building a manufacturing base for flying cars with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units. The factory is slated for completion by the third quarter of next year, with mass production and delivery set for 2026.

Hongqi Releases New Electric and Intelligent Platforms

On November 12, China’s FAW Group’s Hongqi brand launched its "Tiangong" pure electric platform and "Jiuzhang" intelligent platform. The debut model from these platforms, the Tiangong 08, also made its first appearance.

The "Tiangong" platform represents a new modular approach to electric vehicles, covering a range from A-class to C+ class sedans, SUVs, MPVs, and crossover models. Concurrently, the "Jiuzhang" intelligent platform is based on the Feiren architecture, focusing on high-level AI capabilities to enhance mobility solutions. The platform aims to deliver leading-edge technology and an optimized balance of performance and cost.
