BYD Expands Central Asian Footprint with Tajikistan Entry

BYD has officially entered the Tajikistan car market, showcasing its new energy vehicles and strengthening its presence in Central Asia.

BYD Officially Launches in Tajikistan, Showcasing New Energy Vehicles

BYD officially announced its entry into Tajikistan market on a brand launch event at the Tajikistan International Exhibition Center on October 4th. BYD mentioned that it will strengthen cooperation with local partners to bring about advanced new energy passenger cars to the local market and enhance quality services to the local consumers.

Highlighted Models

BYD unveiled several model on the event, among which the Champion Edition of both Song Pro DM-i and the Destroyer 05 captured everyone’s attention.

Models launched in Tajikistan:

-        Song Pro DM-i Champion Edition: a hybrid SUV

-        Destroyer 05 Champion Edition: mid-size sedan

-        SUV Song PLUS EV Champion Edition: a five-seater SUV

-        The e2: a compact electric hatchback

BYD’s Growing Global Presence

As of September 2024, BYD's global footprint has extended to 95 countries and regions. Also, BYD has already enter the Central Asian region in 2023. BYD’s first factory at the region was established in Uzbekistan, jointly built with its local cooperator JSC (UzAuto), with an annual capacity of 50,000 vehicles initially. On June 27th, the first Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition was officially rolled off the production line in BYD's Uzbekistan factory. The factory will cover the Uzbekistan market as well as the Central Asian region.
