BYD's Groundbreaking Live Stream Test: Seal 06 Achieves 2.54L/100km

In contrast to its official claim of 2.9L/100km, BYD's Seal 06 DM-i breaks the fuel economy record in a live-streamed test, using just 2.54L per 100km. The GM of BYD's brand and PR division, Li Yunfei, personally performed the test.

Record-Shattering Show by BYD Seal 06 DM-i

With the introduction of BYD's fifth-generation plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology, known as DM-i 5.0, last week, the Qin L and the Seal 06 were released onto the market. The technology's remarkable 46.06% thermal efficiency, 2.9L/100km fuel consumption, and 2,100km range had caused some in the industry to scoff, especially at the low fuel consumption figure.

On the other hand, a recent test revealed that the Seal 06 only uses 2.54L of fuel every 100 kilometers.

Supervising the Examination

BYD officially tested a Seal 06 on June 5th, with the battery just 15% state-of-charge (SOC). Under the guidance and live broadcast of Li Yunfei, General Manager of BYD's brand and PR department, the car traveled 103.1 km and used 2.56 liters of gasoline, bringing down the SOC to 13%. This resulted in a fuel usage of only 2.54L per 100km, which is significantly less than the 2.9L that BYD had claimed.

Due to the findings, internet users made lighthearted remarks about BYD's propensity to "understate in the opposite direction."

This encouraging test demonstrates BYD's dedication to driving the intelligent electric car market's low fuel usage and competitive price.
