CAAM: Auto Parts Exports Reach $105.61 Billion in 2024, Up 6.8%

On February 7th, data from the General Administration of Customs, compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), revealed that in December 2024, the import value of automotive parts amounted to $2.14 billion, a month-on-month decrease of 16.6% and a year-on-year decline of 29.1%. For the full year of 2024, the import value of automotive parts reached $29.44 billion, down 1.4% year-on-year. In December, the export value of automotive parts surged to $9.78 billion, up 11.2% month-on-month and 16.1% year-on-year. Over the entire year, the cumulative export value of automotive parts reached $105.61 billion, marking a 6.8% increase year-on-year.

Black Sesame Technologies Chip Adopted by BYD and Mass Production Begins

On February 7th, in response to market rumors that "BYD has adopted the automotive-grade autonomous driving computing chip from Black Sesame Technologies, which will be installed in BYD's Denza brand," Black Sesame Technologies confirmed that "its chips have been adopted by BYD and mass production has commenced, but specific details are not convenient to disclose." As a result, the stock price of Black Sesame Technologies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange surged by over 50% during trading.

Voyah Courage (Zhiyin) AI Cockpit to Integrate DeepSeek

On February 7th, Voyah announced the successful deep integration of the DeepSeek model, making Voyah Courage (Zhiyin) the first mass-produced vehicle in the automotive industry to feature DeepSeek. The new Voyah Dreamer will also be equipped with it. Previously, Voyah Xiaoyao cockpit had completed the integration and deployment of the full series of DeepSeek models. Starting from February 14th, Voyah Courage (Zhiyin) users will be able to experience it through OTA updates, and Voyah will gradually roll out more capabilities of DeepSeek in the future.

He Xiaopeng: Aiming for Quarterly Break-Even in 2025

He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG Motors, recently stated in a media interview, "We hope to achieve quarterly break-even at some point in 2025." He also mentioned that XPENG Motors needs to focus on several key areas: globalization, with half of the sales coming from overseas and half from domestic markets; AI-driven innovation, not just in autonomous driving; and developing not just cars, but also mobility solutions (including flying cars). The product price range will be expanded from 200,000-500,000 yuan to 100,000-500,000 yuan.
