China-EU Teams Begin Talks on EV Pricing Commitments  

April 13 — Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis held a video conference on April 8 to initiate negotiations on electric vehicle price commitments, Chinese local media reported. Both sides agreed to “immediately advance technical discussions” to address EU concerns over subsidies and market access.  



GAC to Launch L3 Autonomous Models in Q4 2025

April 12 — GAC Group Chairman Feng Xingya announced at its 2025 Tech Day that the automaker will release Level 3 autonomous vehicles in late 2025, having secured China’s first L3 pilot program approval. The models will enable hands-off highway driving under regulatory conditions.  



GAC Debuts 12 In-House Automotive Chips with Domestic Partners  


April 12 — GAC unveiled 12 automotive-grade chips co-developed with Chinese tech firms:  

- C01: First China-designed 16-core multi-domain central processing unit (with SANECHIPS).  

- G-T01: China’s highest-capacity gigabit Ethernet TSN switch chip (with Motorcomm).  

- G-T02: World’s first 16Gbps SerDes chip (with Rsemi).  

- G-K01: First ASIL-D compliant 6-core RISC-V chip (with Silergy).
