China's Auto Exports Top Global Charts, Shanghai Port Leads in Roll-on/Roll-off Traffic
According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China's auto exports exceeded 6.4 million units in 2024, firmly placing the country at the top of the global auto exports volume charts. In Shanghai Port, the roll-on/roll-off traffic volume for automobiles reached 3.63 million units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 15%. This marks the first time the port has taken the global lead in this category, with over 60% of the traffic volume attributed to foreign trade vehicles.
Over 3,000 New Energy Vehicles Exported from Qingdao
In the early hours of February 26th, at the Qingdao Port, the roll-on/roll-off vessel "ASIAN EMPEROR," carrying over 3,000 Chinese new energy vehicles, set sail for the Mexican ports of Lazaro Cardenas and Manzanillo. This marks the first export of Chinese vehicles to Latin American countries from the Qingdao Port this year and represents the largest and most valuable single export of new energy vehicles from this port so far in 2025.
Hong Kong's Chan Mo-po: HKD 300M Funding Scheme to Boost 3,000 Fast Chargers
On February 26th, Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, announced that the number of electric vehicles in Hong Kong has exceeded 100,000, an eightfold increase from five years ago. The government will launch a HKD 300 million funding scheme in the middle of the year, which is expected to drive the installation of 3,000 fast chargers across Hong Kong by 2030, catering to an additional 160,000 electric vehicles.
Zeekr Completes Offline Deployment of Large Language Model in Cockpit
On February 26th, Zeekr Intelligent Technology announced that, supported by the robust computing power of Qualcomm's smart cockpit platform, it has completed the offline deployment of the industry's first end-side KrAI large language model. This enables real-time text and image understanding and reasoning capabilities without relying on the internet. On February 26th, Wei's new Gaoshan model successfully demonstrated full-scene high-level autonomous driving in Chongqing, showcasing the "space to space" feature for the first time. Leveraging the SEE end-to-end large language model and 27 high-end intelligent sensors, the latest CoffeePilot Ultra autonomous driving system from Great Wall Motor demonstrated precise obstacle avoidance and path planning capabilities, achieving seamless "space to space" navigation. This allows drivers to start their journey without interruptions and park effortlessly wherever there is a parking space.
New IM LS6 Theatre Edition Launches at RMB 219,900 ($30,000)
On February 26th, the new IM LS6 Theatre Edition officially launched with a guidance price ranging from RMB 239,900 ($33,000) to RMB 302,900 ($42,000), and a limited-time special offer of RMB 219,900 ($30,000) to RMB 282,900 ($39,000).
