News Flash丨FAW-VW to Invest Over 2.3 billion Yuan Introducing three SUV models in Tianjin Plant, Commencing from 2026

FAW-Volkswagen ("FAW-VW") has signed an Investment Cooperation Agreement with the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), indicating plans to launch three new automobile models under the renowned Volkswagen and Audi brands.

These vehicles will be produced in the company's Tianjin plant, with an investment of more than 2.3 billion yuan. Production is slated to begin in 2026. Two of these planned models will be new energy vehicles (NEVs), aimed largely at the mid- to high-end market.

The action is expected to greatly increase the share of NEVs in Tianjin's automotive sector while also providing full support for the high-quality expansion of the city's NEV and Intelligent Connected Vehicle industries. Furthermore, it is predicted to increase the output value of Tianjin's car components industries by approximately ten billion yuan.
