GAC's premium EV brand HYPTEC debuted its HL SUV at its 2025 Tech Day on April 12th. The HL SUV offers both BEV and EREV powertrains, and –seater and 6-seater options in 8 trims, with prices ranging from RMB 269,800 (USD 37,000*) to 319,800 (USD 43,800*).

The HL SUV adopts a yacht-inspired exterior design, a comfort and luxury cabin, with cutting-edge tech. The car measures 5,126 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, 1,750 mm high, and a 3,088 mm wheelbase. The brand claimed that the merck pearl paint features fade-resistant capabilities, which can last 10 years. In the cabin, the use of alcantara headliner and second-row zero-gravity seats, supporting a comfort ride.
In terms of the smart cabin, the car utilizes Snapdragon 8295P chip, offering a 4x faster computing and 3xfaster responding time than 8155 chip. Besides, the cabin is integrated with DeepSeek-R1 AI deeply, supporting 10+ round voice dialogues, and 99% low-noise recognition.
In terms of advanced autonomous driving technology, the car is armed with the latest GSD Advanced Autonomous Driving System with Lidar + Orin-X as standard configurations. The system integrated end-to-end large model, achieving non-map navigation both for highway and city roads, covering 99% scenario, with 98% ramp success rate, and intelligent parking skills, including 3km-long distance memory parking capabilities.
The HYPTEC represented its innovations in safety measures in vehicle body building, intelligent features, night vision features, battery protections, as well as other safety measures to ensure a safe drive for passengers.
Till now, HYPTEC has launched another two models, the HYPTEC HT middle-sized SUV, and an all-electric performance-oriented HYPTEC GT. In 2024, the brand sold about 20,000 units, and in the first three months of 2025, the brand sold approximately 4,000+ units. The brand is rivalling with strong competitors, such as Li Auto, NIO.
