Geely Launches Galaxy 7 EM-i Hybrid SUV Priced from 109,800 Yuan

Recently, Geely Galaxy unveiled another major model to Chinese customers, the Galaxy 7 EM-i hybrid SUV. The new model just started pre-sale, at prices between 109,800 (approximately USD15,200 ) and 142,800 yuan (approximately USD19,700 ). According to the brand, the Galaxy 7 EM-i features Geely's latest generation of Thor PHEV technology, achieving an impressive fuel consumption rate of just 3.75L/100km, the lowest in the compact SUV segment

Cutting-Edge Hybrid System

With the support of Geely’s latest Thor PHEV system, and the E-DHT 11-in-1 hybrid drive system and a silicon carbide boost module, the Galaxy 7 EM-i to offer an all-electric range of km and a remarkable combined range of up to 1,420km, and a class-leading fuel consumption of 3.75L/100km

The Thor PHEV system is powered by the world's highest mass-produced thermal efficiency hybrid engine, with a maximum output of 82kW and 136Nm of torque, boasting a thermal efficiency of 46.5%.

Additionally, the electric motor also delivers a power of 160kW and 262Nm of torque, achieving a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration rate of 7.5 seconds.

Space

The Galaxy 7 EM-i, positioned as a compact SUV, measures 4740mm long, 1905mm wide, and 1685mmhigh, with a wheelbase of 2755mm. Though the car is a compact SUV, it ensures an ample interior space for customers, with a 528L trunk and 34 storage compartments.

Geely Galaxy Performance and Potential of the Galaxy 7 EM-i

Geely Galaxy, a sub-brand of Geely, has shown remarkable growth recent months. In October, Geely Galaxy sold over 6,000 units, and the all-electric Galaxy E5 SUV contribute a large amount of sale volumes. The plug-in hybrid Galaxy 7 EM-i is set to maintain the upging trends and become another popular model like the E5 SUV.

Actually, the rapidly growing plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) market in China may give the Galaxy 7 EM-i a chance. According to the public data, from the first nine months of 2024 PHEV sales saw a substantial growth, with a total of 3.328 million units sold, an 84.2% increase year-over-year. This surge indicates a great demand for hybrid vehicles among Chinese consumers.

The next few months, would be crucial for the Galaxy 7 EM-i to capture a larger share of the PHEV market, by competing with the other models, such as Wulingxingguang S, Deepal S05, and Song Pro from the industry leader BYD.
