Global NEV Sales Grow by 30.5% in September, Setting a Record-High

On October 15, market research firm Rho Motion reported that global sales of pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles reached 1.69 million units in September, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%. The popularity and growth rate of NEVs in the Chinese market exceeded expectations. Data showed that China's sales reached 1.12 million units, a growth of 47.9%; the United States and Canada's vehicle sales reached 150,000 units, a growth of 4.3%; European sales were 300,000 units, a growth of 4.2%.

China Pickup Truck Sales in September Reach 45,000 Units, a Year-on-Year Increase of 3.0%

On October 15, data from the China Passenger Car Association indicated that in September 2024, the production of pickup trucks was 42,900 units, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%; sales of pickup trucks in September were 45,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%, and a month-on-month increase of 17.2%, positioning it at the mid-level of the past five years. From January to September of this year, pickup truck sales were 385,000 units, achieving a year-on-year growth of 2.0%, which is a good performance compared to the overall negative growth of light trucks.

On October 14, Li Auto's one millionth vehicle came off the production line at the Li Auto Changzhou Smart Manufacturing Base. Achieving one million units in 58 months, Li Auto has become the first new force automaker in China to reach this milestone and has set the fastest record for a Chinese luxury car to reach one million units.

Avatr 12 Extended Range Opens for Pre-Sale, Planning Official Launch in Q4

On October 15, Avatr 12 extended range, pure electric, and Royal Theater editions simultaneously opened for pre-sale. As the industry's first high-end extended range sedan, the new car is equipped with the new-generation of the leading Kunlun extended range technology, and Huawei's latest DriveOne 800V silicon carbide electric drive. In addition, the Avatr 12 adopts a CATL super extended range battery, featuring a large capacity battery pack of 39.05kWh, with ultra-high energy density, and a peak charging rate of 3C, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. It is reported that the model plans to officially launch in the fourth quarter.
