CPCA: New Energy Passenger Cars Retail Sales Reached 536,000 Units from December 1-15, Up 71% Year-on-Year

On December 18, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed that from December 1-15, the passenger car market retail sales reached 1.083 million units, a year-on-year increase of 34% and a month-on-month increase of 14%; the cumulative retail sales for the year reached 21.341 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6%. From December 1-15, the new energy passenger car market retail sales reached 536,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 71% and a month-on-month increase of 6%, with the cumulative retail sales for the year reaching 10.132 million units, a year-on-year increase of 43%.

GAC Group and Changan Automobile Accelerate Layout in eVTOL

On December 18, Guangzhou Automobile Group officially launched its new flying car brand "GOVY" and released its second flying car product, GOVY AirJet. GOVY AirJet can achieve a 200-kilometer flight range target and supports 30-minute fast charging. In the future, it will be equipped with Guangzhou's self-developed solid-state battery, which is expected to achieve a 400-kilometer flight range. Guangzhou Automobile Group stated that it will also incubate and establish a new technology company to carry out its business in the low-altitude economy field, and plans to officially launch the certification of flying car products in 2025. Meanwhile, Changan Automobile will sign a cooperation agreement with relevant companies on December 21 to conduct forward-looking research on flying cars.

CATL Launches Two Standardized Chocolate Battery Swap Blocks

On December 18th, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) announced that it will launch two standardized chocolate battery swap blocks, named 20# and 25#. These two standard models can provide products with different electricity capacities based on different chemical systems, and each standard model swap block comes with both lithium iron phosphate and ternary energy versions, allowing users to choose according to their needs. CATL's founder, chairman, and CEO, Zeng Yuqun, stated that all future battery technologies of CATL will be applied to chocolate swap vehicles.

Shenzhen: Invests up to 300 million yuan annually to focus on key areas such as autonomous driving and artificial intelligence chips.

On December 18, the Shenzhen Industry and Information Technology Bureau issued the "Measures for Building Shenzhen into a Pioneering City in Artificial Intelligence." It mentioned that greater support should be given to basic research and technological R&D. Every year, up to 300 million yuan will be invested to focus on frontier directions such as mathematical principles, fundamental architecture, core algorithms in artificial intelligence, as well as key areas such as embodied intelligence, autonomous driving, and artificial intelligence chips, to conduct basic research and technological R&D.
