SAIC Unveils 2025 Roadmap: 10+ New Models, L3 Autonomy, Solid-State Batteries

SAIC Group announced an ambitious 2025-2027 product and tech strategy at its 2025 Tech Night, including over 10 new models, advanced ADAS systems, and breakthrough technologies like solid-state batteries.

At its 2025 Tech Night, SAIC Group announced a grand product and tech strategy through 2025-2027, outlining an ambitious intelligent leadership.



Product Blitz: From SUVs to Supercars  


According to SAIC President Jia Jianxu, there will be over 10 new models launched within a year, across almost all segments, such as full-size SUVs, off-roaders, sports cars, and pickups, featuring radical design languages.


Key models as follows:  

- IM L6 Refresh: To debut on April 18, featuring 800V platform, lidar-based ADAS, "Lizard Digital Chassis", and four-wheel steering (4.69m turning radius).  

- Roewe Concepts: Two concept cars is to debut on April 23’s Shanghai Auto Show, a luxury extended sedan and a SUV.

2027 Tech Horizon: By-Wire Chassis, L3, Solid-State Batteries


- Second-gen By-Wire Chassis

The Second-gen By-Wire Chassis, built on IM’s current VMC tech, will be able to perform crab-walking and tank turns.


- Galaxy Cockpit 3.0


The Galaxy Cockpit 3.0 will integrate with HarmonyOS, Android, iOS ecosystems for 100% vehicle control via wearables.  


- Galaxy Architecture 4.0

The Galaxy Architecture 4.0, to be launche within 2025, supports L3 autonomy driving, with self-learning and self-evolving capabilities.  


- Solid-state Battery Leap

SAIC’s new-gen semi-solid-state batteries will debut in MG4 EV by late 2025. SAIC’s first all-solid-state battery - Guangqi is scheduled a launch in 2027.
