SAIC-GM’s 2025 Intelligence Goals: Full L2++ Deployment, L3 Capability


On February 20th, SAIC-GM announced its strategic plan at its 2025 Dealer Partners Summit. The company has developed full-stack in-house capabilities in electrification, intelligent driving, and smart cockpits. By 2025, SAIC-GM aims to be a top-tier player in the industry, with new energy models fully equipped with L2++ intelligent driving features and reserved L3 capabilities. The company plans to launch over 10 new energy models between 2025 and 2026, including pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and extended-range models, with an expected new energy penetration rate of over 60% by 2027.



Yu Chengdong: Maextro S800 to Achieve Autonomous Intelligence Leap


On February 20th, Huawei’s Executive Director Yu Chengdong revealed that the Maextro S800 will feature six advanced intelligent technologies, three of which are exclusive to the model. These include the debut of the Tuling Longxing platform, the Angel Seat active safety system, Huawei Xinghe communication, HarmonyOS ALPS Cockpit 2.0, Huawei Car Language System 2.0, and Huawei Giant Whale Battery 2.0, marking a leap from passive to autonomous intelligence.



Huawei and BYD Launch Fangchengbao Bao 5 with Intelligent Driving


On February 20th, Fangchengbao announced the upcoming release of the Bao 5 Intelligent Driving Edition on February 21st. The model is expected to be equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS system. The Max and Ultra versions are priced at RMB 249,800 ($34,400) and RMB 269,800 ($37,200) respectively. The vehicle features a rooftop lidar and numerous intelligent driving hardware components, including a tri-lens camera module, side-view cameras, exterior rearview mirror cameras, and a rearview camera.



GAC Trumpchi to Unveil Xiangwang Series on March 7th


On February 20th, GAC Trumpchi announced that the Xiangwang series will be launched on March 7th, featuring four models including the M8 Qiankun series MPV, two SUVs, and a sedan. The M8 Qiankun series, developed in collaboration with Huawei, will offer advanced features such as high-level intelligent driving and valet parking.



Renault CEO: New Model Development with China R&D Center


On February 20th, Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo stated that Renault Ampere will collaborate with the Renault ACDC China R&D Center to develop a new Dacia electric vehicle within 16 months, priced below €18,000. In 2024, Renault Group’s revenue reached €56.2 billion, up 7.4% year-on-year, with a net income of €2.8 billion.
