Four-Door Wuling Hongguang MINIEV Launched with Enhanced Features

SGMW put its four-door version of the hot-seller Wuling Hongguang MINIEV on to the market on February 22nd. The new model offers three configurations, pricing at RMB 44,800 ($6,200), RMB 49,800 ($6,900) and RMB 50,800 ($7,000), respectively.

Design and Dimensions

As a hot-seller in sedan market, the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV is always a popular micro electric vehicle in China. The new model features four-door, four-seat design, offering a larger interior space with dimensions of 3256(l)/1510(w)/1578(h)mm, and a wheelbase of 2190mm long. Three colors are available, including Puffy Blue, Bubble Green, and Sweet Coffee.

Safety Enhancements

The Wuling Hongguang MINIEV four-door version is built on the Tianyu Architecture-S platform. By utilizing high-strength steel for 67% of the car's structure, and a ring-shaped cage-like body, which can stand a maximum tensile strength of 1500 MPa, plus dual airbags for the driver and front passenger, the car is safer than before.

The exclusive ESC Body Stabilization System integrates 12 functions to help the driver deal with complex urban road conditions, including slippery roads when raining or snowing, and steep slopes.

Inside the cabin, the model KEY features:

- An 8-inch floating center console screen

- A 7-inch LCD instrument cluster

- Reverse imaging, and vehicle status display

- A rearview camera and rear radar

- Seamless entry/locking

- Intelligent power on/off, and etc.

Performance and Powertrain

Under the hood, the four-door version of the Hongguang MINIEV produced a robust powertrain compared to its peers in the A00 class. By adopting a highly integrated three-in-one electric drive system, The car boosts a motor torque of 85N•m, a 0 to 50km/h acceleration of 4.9 seconds. In terms of range, the car has a CLTC range of up to 205km, and it takes 35 minutes for the car to charge the battery from 30% to 80%. The battery will be supplied by CATL and Gotion High-tech, the two mainstream battery supplier in the industry.

Market Response and Sales

As far as we know, since its pre-sale started last December, the new model has already received 15,379 orders before its official launch. As of February 2025, the Hongguang MINIEV family has surpassed 1.5 million units in sales, and kept the Champion in the A00-segment for consecutive 54 months.
