2024 Trumpchi Empow Officially Launches Starting at CNY 118,000

Trumpchi, a Chinese carmaker, has officially debuted the 2024 Empow, which features a fighter jet-inspired appearance. The tiny performance car, available in four variants, includes a variety of modifications for exterior design, interior refurbishing, performance capabilities, digital connections, and safety features. The vehicle costs between CNY 118,000 and CNY 158,000.

The Empow's exterior reflects the brand's sports-focused style. The car has a massive front intake grille, an imposing ventilation aperture, and sleek black scoops, which are inspired by fighter jet design. The side features the iconic drooping style, and the car is supplied with high-performance, 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a dynamic presence on the road. Star Silver, an extra color option, is now available.

The vehicle's interior design has been carried over from its predecessor, and it has a multifunctional sports steering wheel, a 7-inch LCD instrument panel, a 10.25-inch central control screen, a Yamaha audio system, and a variety of other practical and tech-savvy features.

Empow's Technology and Safety Upgrades

On the technical front, the Empow ADiGO intelligent car networking ecosystem has been enhanced and expanded to include Apple CarPlay compatibility. The package now includes intelligent voice control, remote vehicle management, and real-time online OTA upgrades.

The new vehicle includes a variety of safety features, including tire pressure display, automated parking, hill start assist, reverse radar, panoramic imaging, transparent chassis, constant speed cruise, and more, to assure a superior driving experience and high-level safety performance.

Power and Performance

The 2024 Empow has two engines: 1.5T and 2.0T. The former has a maximum power output of 130 kilowatts and a peak torque of 270 Nm, and it comes with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The latter's engine produces 195 kilowatts of power and 400 Nm of torque, and it is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and has a top speed of 230 kilometers per hour. Impressively, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

The Empow's significant enhancements, paired with an affordable price point, keep it within reach of young buyers, making high-performance vehicles no longer exclusive to foreign automakers.

The Empow, which debuted as the semi-concept EMPOW55 at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2020, garnered immediate interest among auto enthusiasts and Trumpchi followers.

The Empow was formally launched at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021, succeeding the popular Trumpchi GA4 compact car in China.
