Xpeng Debuts MONA M03: The World's Most Aerodynamic Hatchback Coupe

On July 3rd, Xpeng (Xpeng) unveiled the global debut of the Xpeng MONA M03, and live-streamed on multiple platforms. During the live broadcast, Mr. He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of Xpeng, and JuanMa Lopez, Vice President of Design Center introduced the design philosophy and stories behind the Xpeng MONA M03 to the public.

A Unique Name with Powerful Implications

The name Xpeng MONA M03 is quite unique; MONA represents “Made of New AI” implying the strong intelligent and technological genes of Xpeng, while M03 pays tribute to Tesla’s Model 3.

Years and Billions in the Making

As Mr. He Xiaopeng said, Xpeng has spent almost four years and over several billions yuan to develop China’s first intelligent pure electric hatchback coupe- Xpeng MONA M03.

Dimensions and Body Design

JuanMa Lopez spoke of AI quantitative aesthetics that Xpeng MONA M03 has.

This new car measures 4780mm*1896mm*1445mm in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2815mm. When it comes to body posture, the Xpeng MONA M03 possesses a 479mm low center of gravity, 3.31 length to height ratio, 1.31 width to height ratio and a 0.47 tire to height ratio.

The choice for body color in the Xpeng MONA M03 shows how it has high aesthetic standards as well; already they have announced two colors, Starry Mica and Starry Blue, which are both visually friendly low saturation colors.

Leading Aerodynamic Efficiency

One of the key selling points of this new model is its low drag design. Thanks to 15 low-drag elements in total, Xpeng MONA M03 boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.194Cd, which makes it the world’s most aerodynamically efficient electric hatchback coupe. Moreover, this lower drag coefficient cuts down on energy usage by 15% per 100 km, while also providing up to 60 more kilometers of range.

Adequate Storage Space

Moreover, Mr. He Xiaopeng disclosed information about sufficient storage space available in Xpeng MONA M03. He pointed out that there are 4 suitcases of 20 inches and one suitcase of 28 inches that can be packed into its 621L trunk at once.
