Chinese Automakers Achieve Record Overseas Sales
On December 2, the Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, Cui Dongshu, revealed that Chinese domestic car brands achieved significant milestones in overseas markets. Preliminary statistics show that in October alone, Chinese independent automakers sold approximately 246,000 vehicles in various overseas regions, marking a 41% year-on-year increase and a 4% month-on-month rise. From January to October 2024, the cumulative overseas sales of Chinese independent automakers reached 2.16 million units, showcasing a whopping 46% year-on-year growth. The retail performance in overseas markets for these Chinese independent automakers has been commendable.
TrendForce Estimates 24.8 Growth for 2024 NEV Ssales
On December 2, TrendForce, a global market intelligence provider, released its latest report highlighted that in the third quarter of 2024, the total sales of NEVs (including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles) reached 4.123 million units worldwide, reflecting a 19.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The full-year NEV sales for 2024 are estimated to be 16.26 million units, translating to an annual growth rate of 24.8%.
Avatr 11 Extended Range Model Launched
December 2 also saw the launch of the Avatr 11 extended-range model. The new model comes with two powertrains across five variants, starting at ¥279,900, with the Royal Theater edition priced at ¥429,900. The Avatr 11 extended range model is equipped with an all-stack self-developed Kunlun Extended Range system and CATL Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery. This powertrain offers impressive capabilities, including 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds under battery depletion conditions and maintaining performance for 25 consecutive accelerations without degradation. The model boasts a comprehensive CLTC range of 1065 km, and fast-charging from 30% to 80% capacity takes just 15 minutes. In WLTC mode, it achieves an impressive fuel consumption rate of just 6.2 liters per 100 km.
Chery's Record Monthly Sales and Export Milestone
Chery Holding Group has achieved unprecedented sales numbers in November 2024. The company sold a total of 280,463 vehicles in November, marking a 32.2% year-on-year increase and setting a new monthly sales record. Chery's NEV sales in November reached 77,830 units, representing an extraordinary 267.9% growth compared to the previous year. In the same month, fuel vehicle sales totaled 202,633 units, up by 6.1% year-on-year. Overseas exports accounted for 104,911 units, a 10.5% increase year-on-year, while domestic sales hit 175,552 units, displaying a 49.9% year-on-year growth. From January to November 2024, Chery's cumulative sales reached 2,305,411 units, a 38.4% increase year-to-date. Notably, Chery's overseas exports during this period exceeded 1,046,186 units, achieving a 22.4% year-on-year rise.
The Rox Motor Enters the Saudi Market
On December 1, Jishi Automobile announced its entry into the Saudi Arabian market. The company signed a cooperative agreement with the Laith Al Obaidi Group in Shanghai, appointing them as the strategic partner and exclusive agent for the Riyadh and Eastern Province markets in Saudi Arabia.
