21st Shanghai Auto Show Kicks Off with Over 100 Global Debuts

The 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition commenced on April 23, drawing nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions. Organizers confirmed over 100 new vehicle launches during the event’s first two days. Global brands and Chinese automakers alike are leveraging the platform to unveil next-gen EVs, intelligent driving systems, and hydrogen-powered prototypes, reflecting the industry’s accelerated shift toward electrification and connectivity.  



Appotronics Debuts “Lingjing” AI-Powered In-Car Optical System

 

Shenzhen-based Appotronics unveiled its groundbreaking “Lingjing” intelligent vehicular optical solution at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23. The system integrates AI with advanced projection tech, enabling voice-controlled zone-specific content display—from navigation prompts to entertainment interfaces. With 13 confirmed automotive-grade projects, including in-cabin laser cinema screens and adaptive headlight modules, Appotronics aims to redefine human-vehicle interaction for premium EV makers.  



Changan Launches Three Models with Latest Blue Core 500Bar Engine

 

Changan Automobile’s YINLI sub-brand announced on April 23 the official delivery of three upgraded models—the Eado sedan, CS55PLUS, and UNI-V—all powered by its Latest Blue Core 500Bar ultra-high-pressure direct injection engine. The engine, now featured across four YINLI models including the CS75PLUS, promises 15% improved thermal efficiency and reduced particulate emissions under Changan’s Smart Blue Core 3.0 platform. The brand confirmed plans to expand into ICE, PHEV, and HEV variants by 2025, targeting broader market penetration.  



Leapmotor B01 EV Made Global Debut Ahead of July Launch with L2+ Autonomy

 

Chinese EV startup Leapmotor showcased its B01, the second model in its B-series lineup, at Shanghai on April 23. Built on the LEAP 3.5 E/E architecture, the sedan inherits the B10’s tech suite, including a Qualcomm 8295 cockpit chip and an Orin-X-powered ADAS platform with lidar. Capable of highway pilot assist, urban navigation, and memory parking, the B01 targets tech-savvy buyers ahead of its July market debut. Pricing remains undisclosed, though industry analysts expect aggressive positioning against rivals like BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3.
