JAC Yiwei to export 10,000 EVs to Central and South America

On February 21, the launch ceremony for the first batch of 10,000 JAC Yiwei vehicles to be exported to Central and South America was held at the JAC Smart Factory in China. The batch includes 5,000 Yiwei 3 and 5,000 E10X Huaxianzi sodium-ion battery version electric hatchbacks. Yiwei is a new EV brand established in April 2023.

JAC Yiwei E10X Huaxianzi is an electric hatchback powered by a cylindrical sodium-ion battery pack supplied by Beijing-based HiNa Battery and utilizes JAC’s UE (Unitized Encapsulation) honeycomb technology. Its predecessor was the Sehol E10X. The size of the vehicle measures 3650/1670/1540 mm with a 2390 mm wheelbase.

The battery pack has a capacity of 23.2 kWh, providing a CLTC cruising range of 230 km, and a power consumption level of approximately 10 kWh per 100 km, according to Chinese media XChuXing. Under fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% and 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.

On December 27, 2023, the first batch officially rolled off the production line in China. In the second half of 2024, JAC Yinwei also plans to launch a 300 km range version.

JAC Yiwei 3 is an electric hatchback launched in June 2023 with dimensions of 4025/1770/1560 mm and a wheelbase of 2620 mm. The low-power version is equipped with a 70 kW front electric motor and a 41 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a CLTC cruising range of 405 km. Furthermore, the high-power version is equipped with a 100 kW front electric motor and a 51.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a CLTC cruising range of 505 km.

In January 2024, JAC sold 39,200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 51.91%; and exported 18,600 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 66.85%, and a month-on-month increase of 27.41%.
