The first car manufactured in Uzbekistan by BYD rolled out of the production line, from a factory whose initial yearly capacity with 50,000 vehicles.
The first fleet of mass-produced new energy vehicles, made by BYD’s Uzbekistan factory at the Jizzakh region, officially started commercial operations with the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Editions.
The factory in Jizzakh is an important outcome of a partnership between Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) and BYD in December 2022. Their strategy states that, phase one of the factory will produce the two plug-in hybrid models of Song PLUS DM-i Champion Editions and Destroyer 05 Champion Editions, with the factory targeting to make 50 000 cars annually, to meet the increasing market demand in Central Asia.
