CPCA: Preliminary Statistics Show September Passenger Car Market Retail Sales of 2.063 Million Units, a Year-on-Year Increase of 2%
On October 10th, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) preliminarily calculated that from September 1st to 30th, the passenger car market retail sales reached 2.063 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2%, and a month-on-month increase of 8%. The cumulative retail sales for the first nine months have reached 15.529 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2%. From September 1st to 30th, the new energy vehicle market retail sales reached 1.12 million units, a year-on-year increase of 51%, and a month-on-month increase of 9%.
GAC Group's Sole subsidiary Plans to Increase Investment in Chenzhi Technology (辰致科技) by up to 550 Million Yuan and Invest 27 Million US Dollars in Pony.ai
On October 10th, GAC Group announced several proposals reviewed and passed in the 70th meeting of the sixth board of directors. To strengthen the industrial chain collaboration in key parts areas such as intelligent steering-by-wire chassis, the company's sole subsidiary, GAC Components Limited, plans to increase its investment in Chenzhi Technology by up to 550 million yuan to acquire a 30% stake. To deepen business collaboration and promote the company's development in the field of autonomous driving, the company's sole subsidiary, GAC Capital Co., Ltd., has agreed to invest 27 million US dollars in Pony.ai.
SAIC Motor and Dongfeng Group's Sales in the First 9 Months, Down by 21.56% and 8.4% Respectively
On October 10th, SAIC Motor and Dongfeng Group released sales data for September, showing a decline to varying degrees. SAIC Motor sold 313,300 new vehicles in September, a year-on-year decrease of 35.03%. The cumulative sales from January to September were 2.6493 million vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 21.56%. Dongfeng Group sold 167,932 vehicles in September, compared to 200,000 vehicles in the same period last year. In the first 9 months, the total vehicle sales were 1.366 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.4%.
Xpeng P7+ Officially Unveiled as China's First AI Car
On October 10th, the Xpeng P7+ was officially unveiled, positioned as China's first AI car, expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year. According to previous news, the Xpeng P7+ will be equipped with Xpeng's new generation of autonomous driving hardware platform, including the industry's first single-pixel Lofic architecture pure vision solution—AI Eagle Eye Vision and AI Tianji 5.4.0 system, which has a stronger information collection capability. The Xpeng P7+ also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 automotive-grade cockpit chip, combined with multi-screen interaction to achieve a virtual cockpit experience.
