Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Car Association: China Accounts for 70% of the Global New Energy Vehicle Market from January to November 2024

Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, stated in a recent release that China's new energy passenger car growth rate has outpaced the global average, with a significant reversal in China's share of the global market in 2020. China maintained a robust 52% share throughout 2021; in 2022, China's new energy passenger car share exceeded 63%; in 2023, China's share of the global market was 64%; and from January to November 2024, China continued to hold a 69.6% share, with the share reaching 76% for the months of October and November.

Zeekr's An Conghui: Three New Models to be Launched in 2025, Super Hybrid System to Debut at Shanghai Auto Show

On January 2nd, An Conghui, President of Geely Holding Group and CEO of Zeekr Intelligent Technology, revealed during a Geely Automobile conference call that Zeekr plans to introduce three new models in the second, third, and fourth quarters of 2025. A shooting brake model based on the Zeekr 007 platform will be unveiled in the second quarter, a full-size flagship SUV in the third quarter, and a mid-to-large luxury SUV in the fourth quarter, both of which will feature both pure electric and super hybrid powertrains. Zeekr's super hybrid system, a new form of propulsion that integrates pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended technologies, is expected to be launched during the 2025 Shanghai International Auto Show.

Seres' Zhang Xinghai Sends Internal Letter: Aims for Million-Unit Sales Target within Three Years

On January 2nd, Zhang Xinghai, Chairman and Founder of Seres Group, clarified the 2025 targets in an internal letter to all employees, stating that AITO will anchor in the luxury car segment, with M9 aiming to continue leading in luxury car sales, and the overseas new energy vehicle market will implement a doubling plan. Zhang Xinghai also stated in the letter that Seres new energy vehicles will achieve a million-unit sales target within three years.

Tesla Delivers 495,570 Vehicles in the Fourth Quarter

On January 2nd, Tesla disclosed that it delivered 495,570 vehicles in the fourth quarter, below the estimated 512,277 units, with MODEL 3/Y deliveries totaling 471,930 units, below the estimated 484,575 units. Tesla's fourth-quarter production reached 459,445 units, with Model 3/Model Y production at 436,718 units. For the full year of 2024, Tesla delivered 1.789 million vehicles and produced 1.773 million units.

China's First Distributed Electric-Driven Flying Car Makes Its Debut

Recently, Southeast University unveiled the country's first distributed electric-driven flying car, developed by itsresearch team—the "Southeast University Kunpeng No. 1." This flyingcar is the first of its kind in China with full-wheel steering and full-wheeldrive, featuring a four-axis octocopter configuration, and is also the first land-air integrated flying car in Jiangsu Province. The "Southeast University Kunpeng No. 1" primarily relies on high-power power batteries for endurance. Project team member Zhuang Weichao stated that the team has also developed a range-extended aviation electric propulsion system, which, compared to existing pure battery-driven systems, has characteristics of high power, long endurance, and high reliability. The flight endurance time is expected to exceed two hours and will be applied to the next generation of land-air integrated flying cars.
