GAC Aion Ships First 500 AION Y Plus to Indonesia

GAC Aion advances its Southeast Asia expansion with the production launch of its Thai factory and the export of the first 500 AION Y Plus vehicles to Indonesia, marking significant progress in its overseas strategy.

GAC Aion Strengthens Presence in Southeast Asia with Thai and Indonesian Factories

Southeast Asia is at the core of GAC Aion's high-tech system's overseas strategy. Following the completion and production launch of the Thai factory on July 17th, GAC Aion has also accelerated its market process in Indonesia.

First Batch of AION Y Plus Exported to Indonesia

GAC Aion revealed on July 26t that it first batch of 500 AION Y Plus were exported to Indonesia, set sail from the Xinsha Port.

Conquering Southeast Asia car market is always the core of GAC Aion's overseas strategy. In this April, GAC Aion joined hands with the local leading automotive group, INDOmobil, to expanding Indonesian market. According to the agreement, the two parties will co-work on vehicle manufacturing, automotive sales services and finance, energy ecology, mobility market, and the entire industry chain.

Indonesian Market Entry and Factory Construction

Till now, GAC Aion is providing pure electric vehicles to the local consumers through  vehicle exports, meanwhile it is vigorously promoting the construction of the Indonesian factory, and expecting to put into production around the end of this year. Soon after the this batch of AION Y Plus, Aion will offer more significant models including the second-generation AION V in the Indonesian market.

Accelerated Overseas Strategy

After the completion of the Indonesian factory, Aion will cover the Southeast Asian market and radiate to other countries around the world, based on the two factories in both Thailand and Indonesia.

Since 2023, GAC Aion has accelerated its overseas strategy by entering 19 countries and regions in the first half of 2024. In the near future, GAC Aion has plans to enter countries such as Qatar and Mexico.
