Hongqi, a Chinese automaker, revealed 22 models from its three sub-brands at the Beijing Auto Show 2024, focusing its new product matrix on energy saving and electric vehicles.
Golden Sunflower Brand Shines
Hongqi's Golden Sunflower brand made its international auto show debut, showcasing its premium line, headlined by the executive sedan 'Guoya', which is currently available for global reservations.
Focused on Energy Conservation
The energy-saving sub-brand displayed the flagship, 'New Red Flag H9', as well as the redesigned hybrid system model, '2024 Hongqi HQ9.' Other variants were the Hongqi H5 HEV and HQ9 PHEV.
Pioneering in New Energy
In accordance with the "All in New Energy" plan, Hongqi launched numerous new energy vehicles designed on the "Hongqi • Tiangong" electric platform, including the mid-to-large SUV Hongqi EHS7.
Growth and Challenges
Hongqi's Q1 2024 results showed encouraging growth, with a remarkable 64.3% YoY increase in wholesale volume. However, with the introduction of electric vehicles, the company confronts difficulty in developing a model with a major market advantage.
Strategic Partnership for Intelligent Cabins
On April 18, China FAW established a strategic alliance with Yihuatong Technology. The alliance aims to co-create products and achieve full-stack development capabilities for intelligent cabins, giving Hongqi a competitive advantage with its intelligent cockpits.
The Beijing Auto Show represents Hongqi's transition to sustainable development, demonstrating commitment to the manufacturing of new energy vehicles.
