Besides, the GXR is able to handle various driving scenarios, including peak traffic times, mixed vehicle and pedestrian traffic, night-time highway driving and so on.

Safety and User-Friendly Features

In terms of safety, the car’s interior is designed without sharp corners, and each door has an emergency exit sign.

Leading Global Autonomous Driving Player

Comparing GXR with Tesla’s Cybercab

Compared to Tesla’s Cybercab, WeRide's GXR has a lot of distinct differences in design philosophy, functional positioning, and technological implementation, A) the GXR is a mature mass-produced model operated on roads now, while Cybercab is a forward-looking model expected to operate by 2026; B) The GXR focuses more on practicality and comfort, while the Cybercab emphasizes on exploring a tech-savvy future mobility.

From Humble Beginnings to a Global Player

WeRide, established in 2017 in Guangzhou, is the earliest Chinese technology company to launch commercial Robotaxi operations. On October 18, 2024, WeRide finally completed the U.S. stock listing procedures, seeking to raise over US$400 million, with an estimated market value of US$5 billion.
