Unpacking the Ownership Structure of Volvo Cars

One week ago, Cleantechnica, the top media specializing in cleantech news and commentaries, released its ‘World EV Sales Report’, indicating that there’re 1,344,000 units of NEVs sold across the world, a year-on-year increase of 22%, taking up 20% of the world auto sales. Cumulatively, during January to July, 8,526,000 units of NEVs were sold globally.
In the report, we also learned about the top 20 world best-selling EV models. Let’s go through the models quickly.

The Chart is very interesting by several highlights we will share one by one with you.
Firstly, VW ID.4 stands as the only one legacy OEM model left on the top 20. With NEVs emerging continuously, the NEVs from China made significant impact on the world auto market and is catching more and more market share with their affordable prices and tech-savy features. The legacy OEMs haven’t shown great advantages now. And dut to the EU tariffs on China EVs, ID.3 only sold 11,786 units, down 31% month-over-month in July, ranking out of the top 20 list.
Secondly, BYD is definitely the king. With 9 models joined the top 20 list, the BYD line-up shows formidable strength in the NEV market. Among them, we can’t miss Qin L, which was just entered the market in two months, recorded 32,466 units sold in July, demonstrating a great potential of being a best-seller.
Thirdly, Chinese NEV startups also performs impressively in July. Li Auto’s L6 took the 8th place in the list, and is still on the rise. The Huawei-backed AITO has two models on the top 20 list with M9 and M7 at the 14th and 16th position. GAC’s Aion has two models Y and S on the list taking the 13th and 19th position. Xiaomi shows a drop from the 17th in June to 20th in July.

In the Top best-selling NEV models from January to July, there are 16 models from China, among which BYD hold 8 places. AITO M7, M9 and Li Auto L7 secured their spots in the list as a dark horse.
