Luxeed S9 Range-Extender Version Opens Pre-Orders March 20  


March 18 — Huawei’s Luxeed S9 range-extender variant will launch pre-sales on March 20 ahead of a Q2 market entry, sources confirm. Upgrades include HUAWEI XPIXEL smart headlights with interactive projections, four lidars (one 192-line + three solid-state), and a multi-modal sensing system. New “Cosmic Blue” exterior and “Truffle Brown” interior options add premium appeal.  



GAC Aion Hyper HL SUV Pre-Sales Start at RMB 279,800  


March 18 — GAC Aion’s Hyper HL midsize SUV opened pre-orders with six variants (4 BEV, 2 EREV), priced from RMB 279,800–329,800 (USD 43,046–50,738*). Built on GAC’s AEP 3.0 EV platform, the HL offers 5-/6-seat layouts, standard lidar, and up to 750 km CLTC range for BEV models. The EREV version delivers 350 km pure-electric range.  



Zeekr Unveils Level 3 Autonomous Driving Tech; 9X Flagship Debuts at Shanghai Auto Show  


March 18 — Zeekr introduced its Vast Drive autonomous suite, featuring G-AES obstacle avoidance, full-scenario “Parking Space to Parking Space” capability, and a Level 3-ready architecture. The tech will debut on the 9X Glory SUV, set to premiere at April’s Shanghai Auto Show as the industry’s first L3-focused solution.  



Xiaomi’s EV Unit Posts Q4 Revenue of RMB 16.3B, Narrows Losses  


March 18 — Xiaomi Group reported RMB 16.7 billion (USD 2.57 billion*) in Q4 2024 revenue from its innovation segment, with smart electric vehicles contributing RMB 16.3 billion (USD 2.51 billion*). The EV division’s gross margin hit 20.4%, while adjusted net losses narrowed to RMB 700 million (USD 107.7 million*) for the quarter. Full-year EV losses totaled RMB 6.2 billion (USD 954 million*), with an 18.5% annual gross margin.  



XPeng Reports 2024 Revenue of RMB 40.87B, Losses Halved  


March 18 — XPeng Motors disclosed 2024 revenue of RMB 40.87 billion (USD 5.6 billion*), up 33.2% YoY, driven by higher vehicle margins. Annual gross margin rose 12.8 percentage points to 14.3%, while net losses shrank to RMB 5.79 billion (USD 891 million*), down from RMB 10.38 billion in 2023.
